Family -
- Steve Jobs was born to two graduate students that gave him up for adoption without a name. The jobs family adopted him and lived in the Silicon Valley where he helped with dad with his hobby; taking apart electronics and rebuilding them.
School -
- As a student Jobs was frustrated over formal schooling even though he was very bright and a great thinker. He had to be bribed to do his work by his 4th grade teacher to do his homework. Administrators wanted to pass him to high school, but his parents refused. When he eventually went to high school he spent a lot of his free time at HP, where he met his friend and future co-founder, Steve Wozniak, a brilliant computer engineer.
Jobs enrolled in Reed College in Portland, OR, but didn't really know what to study so after 6 months he dropped out and spent the next 18 months attending creative classes.
- He took a job as a video game designer with Atari in 1974. After several months, he left and decided to go on a spiritual journey through India.
Apple -
- In 1976, Jobs, who was 21 at the time, started Apple Computers with Wozniak with very little money in Job's parents garage. In 1980, the company sold it's first stock and made $1.2 billion dollars on the first day. Apple suffered some design flaws which made IBM's sales go up. At this point, the computer market was dominated by PC's.
- In 1984, Apple released the Macintosh computer. It was not compatable with IBM software and with its lack of success, Apple's executives pushed Job's out as CEO.
NExT -
- In 1985, Jobs resigned as Apple CEO and created a hardware company called NExT. With the success of this company, Jobs bought a George Lucas animation company called Pixar. After putting $50 million dollars of his own money into the company, it created such films as "Toy Story", "Finding Nemo", and "The Incredibles". He then merged the studio with Disney which made Jobs the biggest stock holder of Disney Company.

- In 1997, Jobs went back to the stuggling Apple company as the CEO and is paid $1.00 a year as a salary. His products such as the iMac and stylish designs and marketing brought the company back.
In 2003, Jobs found out that he had pancreatic cancer and in 2004 had a successful surgery to remove the tumor.
- Apple went on to produce products such as: Macbook Air, iPod, iPhone, iPad, and iTouch and in 2008 iTunes became the 2nd largest seller of music.
Sickness -
- In 2009, Jobs had a liver transplant and on October 5, 2011, Apple announced that he had died at the age of 56. He left behind a wife and 4 children.

Impact
Steve Jobs created technology that made computers smaller, cheaper and available to all people. The software is intuitive and even if you have never used an iPhone, you are able to learn it with little instruction.
